2 classical tunes on my 814...
I direct mic'd em w/o expresion system...
some rather hard guitar work to do...I learned these last year, and I was a bit rusty, but I am happy with the outcome of both...crazy fun stuff to play and show off with please listen and tell me what you think of them...the first is the shorter and easier of the two, but I think the progressions are beautiful...the second is longer and much harder (just to remember it all)... Horizons - by Genesis (Steve Hackett) www.cadenzaspell.com/horizons.mp3 Leaves of Green - by Yes (Steve Howe) www.cadenzaspell.com/leavesofgreen.mp3

Good job!
Always like to hear other forum members play. I want to get a few more mp3's out. I enjoyed listening to yours.

the 'Leaves of green' thing is a acoustic guitar thing from 'The Ancient' which is on the Tales from Topographic Oceans album by Yes. Steve Howe plays it on a nylon string on the record, but I have always though it sounded great on a steel string.
a great piece - nice job on the palm slaps - for whatever reason I've never been able to quite pull those off too well. I taught that one to my nephew, its a great piece. You should try Clap. It's not as bad as it sounds. Mood for a Day and Meadow Rag are also fun tunes to play. Steve Howe is so cool.

Very nice playing. I was wondering what you used to record yourself. The guitar sounded great.

thanks guys...nice tyo hear the feedback...and yes, Steve Howe is the man...I am a major Yes junkie so i had to learn this one...hmm...as for his other solo stuff, I have a few albums and alot of Mp3s...he is my favorite guitarist (well, tied with Andy Latimar )...
as for what I used...hmm...well to be honest, I got sick of the ES problems (sounds like mush) so I just used the good ol' SM57 to record...not much for doctoring sound...very minimal reverb (moreso on Horizons for that softer sound)...I recrded this through my Boss BR-8 recording equipment... thanks again guys...I really appreciate it
