Yep, I just noticed the Korg had no output either and realize the S1 gives me some better preamp flexibility/security. We're totally in the camp of in-home or coffee shop performing prosumers with cash that want a simple do-all system for vocals and a guitar. I don't want to fiddle with separate preamps and know that we may need to deliver to a house-PA system, too.

In other words, I just ordered the S1 for my wife.

A lot of the decision of whether or not the S1 is right for you depends upon how much you like the guitar Tonematch preset, and how much it fits with your particular guitar. I think we pretty much universally agree that the vocal Tonematch preset sounds really good. If the guitar preset sounds good to you, this is a really good choice.

For the solo guitar style I do, the guitar Tonematch preset isn’t there. There is not enough bass and it sounds artificially bright. When I don’t use the preset, there is too much low frequency content, and backing off the back also takes away the low frequency stuff I want.

With the D6-8 I can boost the lows a little, high pass the boom out of it, and remove a little around 200Hz which takes out a lot of the mud. I can also use a notch filter for feedback and put the guitar out of phase if that helps. Then I add a touch of compression, reverb and delay and I am in tone heaven! There is also a separate chorus for those of you who like that.

For some of you, the guitar Tonematch preset is going to be perfect and you’ll be really happy with the S1. Maybe even happier than you would be with the D6-8 because you can get that sound without tweaking it.

When I add the S1 to the D6-8, I get everything that I like about the D6-8 in stereo. I really like the S1 as a powered speaker.

I read that in the Bose forum:

One thing I noticed when running it through the Play Acoustic, I can get more volume from the S1 by adjusting the level dial on the Play Acoustic. It seems to act as a pre-amp.

Can any S1 pro owner can try (with any mixer) and see if the S1 has some extra headroom hidden?

Yes. I tried last night and started to send you a PM about it. I ran my Play Acoustic through the S1 for the first time and I had more gain, and what seemed like more headroom. It was certainly louder to my ears.

Also, in another thread, a user did the battery run down test and got 8:15 play time and more than 50% volume. And, he still had at least 10% - 20% left on the battery. It seems this might be the S1’s magic trick.

No doubt.. I've run my S1 Pro with a variety of gear into it...
Including my T1, Play Acoustic and AH Zed10Fx.

All enhanced the sound and yes.. Def louder, high quality and more headroom.

If you need a battery, it’s hard to argue with the S1 Pro.

After reading the summary, I probably wouldn't buy one. It would seem to be a good option if you play a lot of Coffee Houses. We don't.

Bingo. Or, if you play at home primarily. Or, if you don’t have a mixer or outboard gear. Or, if you need the battery. Otherwise, you can probably find a better value. That said, I’ve yet to discover a fatal flaw in the design or execution. And each time I use mine, I like it more. It might defy logic, I guess.

It's small... I presume one of the smallest PA Speakers or guitar amps out there...

For perspective .. I placed my TV remote next to it to show the size.
Also placed it next to one of my JBL LSR305 studio monitors (book shelf sized).
