I read music, but I sucked at math and symbolic logic.

That doesn't mean I think you're wrong, though. Not at all.

My aptitude might be fine, but my attitude was off-kilter.

I practiced reading music a lot because I loved playing and performing.
I aced "regular" logic in college and I still find it fascinating, but I never took the time to practice my symbolic logic lessons like I should have.
The same for math.

So...It's all on me.

The visual aspect. I think it is beautiful, though.
I don't find math hard, particularly. Geometry and trigonometry are logical, and much math is logical. I have trouble with algebra when there are more than two letters, though. I can handle when it's just "x" and "y" but when "z" gets thrown into the mix I get confused keeping track of them.

Due to quick frustration with alien logic, the logic of those more capable than myself, I formulated my own idea of tab - useless for someone else: upside down, mirrored, notations of timing and technique pulled from the air.
