Default NGD...best wife ever...

We'll, I've already bought 5 or 6 of the "last guitars" I'll ever need. And, I used to have a closet full of Taylors, then thru the years traded them. But, every time I play one I just miss it. A week or so ago John Levan who is a great guy here in Nashville to work on guitars, had a Taylor for sale in his shop. It's a GS-6 with fossilized walrus saddle ($100 upgrade) and a pick up already installed. Plus, with his set up work already done...it played and sounded amazing. To my ear the maple GS is by far the best GS and one of the best 2 or 3 guitars Taylor has ever made. (if you look on e-bay there are 27 Gs's for sale but only one maple one). Anyway, long story short...I got a great amazing deal and will pick it up on Wednesday. You know what they look like put I'll post pic's then. Thanks to my great understanding wife who put's up with a songwriter that "needs" 10 acoustic guitars!!!

Hi $ongWriter,

Congratulations on that new GS6. My experience with these guitars would indicate that a fossilized walrus saddle would really help this guitar sound even better, so I think this is a great addition. Good for you.

I disagree with only one point. I believe I have the best wife ever. But I can see where opinions on this might vary!

Congratulations!
- Glenn

Congratulations. Sure do love my GS6. I wonder what that saddle would do for it....

I personally am spoken for, but there may be other members who wish to know if your wife has any sisters?

Cool NGD...best wife ever!!!

Congrats on the newest member of your family. I agree a family portrait would be in order. Since your wife has no sister, is her mother available?

Glen

can't wait to see the pics !( i'm sure the guitar is nice too).
i too have a love affair with( not your wife) GS maple/sitkas.
and your a lucky man with the wife. i trade "blondes" too often and am somewhat jealous. teaching the current one to play, so maybe she'll someday understand...cooking will never be in her repertoire. but oh well.

My Wife used to buy me a guitar for Christmas every year until she retired from her bank manager job at the age of 53. But the real deal breaker was when I bought my Olson SJ a few years back. No guitars from her since I mean none at all. She is still a great Wife and understands musicians very well. I have 22 guitars so I am not complaining even a little bit. I did recently buy a electric 12 string but I bought it for myself it was not a gift.

My wife's mindset is that money shouldn't affect your happiness, so if its making you unhappy not to have something, then just buy it.

I don't know if she fully understands the implications of this policy or not.
