Hey! I'm flattered you remembered, I was going to wait until I could post a photo or two-
It was an awesome event and very well organized and attended. In a cool old theatre. I performed Plato's Regret. As some of you know I was nomimated in 7 of the 30 or so categories- well, I only won one, but I was very VERY happy about it, it was the one I was hoping for and truly did not expect to win- I won Cd of the Year from a Solo Act! Is that not awesome? I was totally happy. You know, some of the other categories were like, for individual tunes, and lyricist of the year, songwriter of the year, best solo act of the year, etc.... I figured that that "best CD of a the year for a solo act" and "best CD of the year from a band" were like the two really prestigious ones, kind of like winning "best all round" for the CD, you know.. it really was like a grammies show, with presenters, performers, and clips from all the CDs being played..... It was fun to hear people clapping and hooting a little when they read my name in all the categories. I was surprised and flattered that I got such recognition in Daytona, there were some fans there I recognized and some I did not, but they knew me. That was cool. My Sister and her husband and a few friends came, unfortunately my hubby could not get off work. I got a nice brass pyrymid "trophy" - or, I dont know what to call it but it looks cool, with the inscription SSA Music Awards - CD of the Year from a Solo Act - Elizabeth Roth - like the david It was awesome and fun, I met some nice people had a great time .
