What a beautiful guitar. I can't think of any modern luthier who builds a guitar that looks so pure and timeless.

Congratulations Ted for getting your guitar in the hands of one of the best players out there -- and a really nice guy, too.

The hardest part for me is trying to catch the high gloss and deepness of the lacquer without getting to much unnecessary reflections. The pictures are not photoshopped in any way, the reflection you see is actually part of the lighting setup. I use a softbox with natural outdoor lights and place the softbox so that it reflects on the guitar. In order to get the feel that the guitar is shiny something needs to be added to show a reflection. I like using the softbox for this beacuse it gives me a little more control over what will reflect.
I didn't think the photos looked unusually processed but I do think those large blocks of lighting on the back are a bit distracting. I'm no pro myself but perhaps angle your setup so that the lighting is more diffuse. Just a suggestion...

Great stuff going on here.

A pal of mine has just got an Astrand and is raving about it - I'll be playing it in a few weeks; can't wait.

Cheers,
Steve

I've seen a few of your photos here on the forum and I must say you definitely have a skill in photography, appreciate your feedback. I'm still learning the basics photographing with studio lights but you make a good point that the reflections can be a bit distracting. I'm planning on getting some nice flashes in the future which will probably help allot.

Thanks, I'm not entirely familiar with Martins recording setup or how he processes his music but I know he likes to add a bit of reverb.
