Default Doerr Custom Legacy build

Happy New Year, folks! I'm excited to offer a build thread for my first custom Tom Doerr Legacy! It's been great fun following Charlie D's build through the fall ( thanks for the wisdom and insights, Charlie!) and now the winter months will showcase more of Tom's artistry. Tom has been GREAT to work with!!
The build will have a special set of Lucky Strike Redwood for the soundboard, and a nice set of his Cocobolo for the back and sides. In the pics below you can also see the inside wood of the double sides already bent and this is Wenge. The build will be Tom's standard model with additional upgrades.
My thanks to Tom for his work thus far...and building through the holidays!
More to come in the next few days!
Regards,
Fred

Default Legacy Build

Fred, you're going to be very happy with this Legacy! The woods are just gorgeous. As usual, Tom has some exceptional cocobolo, and the Lucky Strike Redwood will be a perfect complement. I'm looking forward to seeing how this build evolves.

Thanks so much for the thoughts/compliments, guys.......will post more as they come in from Tom. He's a great guy to work with and is perfectly "in sync" with his clients. I'm truly excited to see the next phase of this build.
All the best,
Fred

The Lucky Strike and Cocobolo with Doerr's voicing talents, this is bound to be a killer finger style guitar!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks everyone for the comments! Its been great working with Fred from the beginning. I am looking forward to building with the LS redwood. I built one awhile ago and I am curious to see what it will sound like with my new techniques I have learned since then. Paired up with coco I think will be a great match. Thanks for looking!

Tom has been busy this week in spite of rough weather out there in Michigan. I've included a few shots of the Legacy as it makes its way toward an assembled box.

Tom tells me the rosette is on tap for tomorrow.....that's going to be fun to watch come together! Thanks all for taking a look!

Fred

Hi Folks....
More pics from Tom as he moves along with the Legacy build. Here's an update for you.

Back braces are in place with Tom's "D" logo hanging out in there!

Hour glass end graft is now set.

Tom's latest work on the rosette. I love cross grain and wanted to "frame" it with ebony to tie things together visually.

More pics as they arrive. Thanks for viewing!

Fred
