Default Recording from PA - will this work?

Ok so I've picked my recording interface - focusrite itrack solo.

I've tried doing some recordings with it and it seems straight forward enough. My question is can I run my guitar and mic through the various effect pedals into my PA, set all my levels etc and then run an xlr direct out into my recording interface and record from there?

I appreciate once you've recorded with all the effects you can remove them but would this work in theory?

Yes you can although it will be more direct sounding than you hear in the room

If you record from the pickup on your guitar your recording will sound like a guitar through a pickup, not like your guitar. You are much better off recording with a nice microphone and adding the effects later using software. That's the only way to accurately capture the sound of your guitar.

Yes you can. But why would you? For simplicity? Then yes. Otherwise I would record the mic and guitar through separate channels or separately and keep the ability to mix down afterwards.
