Convert a modern style Martin Bridge to the vintage through saddle style??
I have a 37 D-18 that someone in the past installed a newer style Martin bridge on. Is it possible to convert that bridge into the vintage through saddle style to make it look period correct? I'd prefer to keep the current bridge on the instrument and not risk having it removed again.
Has anyone had this done or seen it done successfully?

It can easily be made into a through saddle, but to an experienced eye the bridge will still be seen as a replacement.

If you're just trying for "the look" you could try this trick:
