Actually, if we suggest one composer is copying/ripping off/plagiarising another for using the same chord sequence, can we say the same when Taylor use the same timber sequence as Martin etc?

There are many, many examples like this and it is fun to compare them.

Some are blatant obvious plagiarism and others may have just been "inspired" by the original, either intentionally or not.

It is interesting that Joe Jackson that was mentioned in the OP as possibly ripping off Badfinger is in this video shown as being ripped off by The White Stripes. I guess what goes around comes around
