Yep, I actually have that record (not a CD), it's a good one. Still, it couldn't come close to matching seeing Townes live (although with Townes you never really new what you were going to get from one night to the next).

I also loved to hear Utah Phillips and Rosalie Sorrels.
I don't know how many of you would know who ther were though.
Rosalie Sorrels and her old Martin gave me the single most memoriable moment in music in my life. I was at a concert in a small guitar shop, "Ramblin Conrads" in Norfolk Va in the early eighties. She sang "I Remember Loving You", I swear it was just to me. I still get chills thinking about that moment, but I've never heard any recorded music by her that was just she and her guitar. By the way Nanci Griffiths song "Ford Econoline" is about her.

If this question was about 2 voices and one guitar then Wednesday Morning 3AM would be my choice.

Wasn't Dylans first album just him and his Martin?

I know that place and lived in Norfolk/VA Beach around the same time.. I saw Rosalie Sorrels a couple of times and just loved her live show.

Gordon Lightfoot -- "Lightfoot," "The Way I Feel," and "Did She Mention My Name" are classic albums. Difficult, if not impossible, to find better
