Default Copyrighting Unfinished Work

Hi Everyone,

I've recently gotten back into writing, and I need some advice. I've got a couple of songs that I'm wanting have some help with from some local writers, but I'm wanting to make sure I'm protected. I'm hesitant to copyright since the songs aren't finished yet, and I'm obviously looking for a co-writer, but I don't want to take it to someone, and them just hijack the song as their own. Should I go ahead and copyright, or are there other protections I should look at? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Leland

Record everything you have that you are doing and copyright a body of work. You are covered. It's one fee.

You can break it down separately later if needed with a new copyright. Worst case is you could sue yourself....
