Default taylor 214nylon

just discovered this guitar .looks like a beauty to me...thinkin of trading my tele for this ;if I like it...any thoughts on this guitar? thanks!

Play it first. These can be a bit on the quiet and unresponsive side, and are perhaps more useful as a gigging guitar plugged in.

That's been my impression of the Taylor classics I've played. They are un-impressive to me as acoustics, but have a balanced flat response feel to me plugged in. So they would be a possible choice for stage/performing guitars through amps, but probably not wonderful as straight acoustic players. I would definitely put them in the gigging class as opposed to home acoustic players.

If you want a guitar to plug in, there are other choices. For example, you could go with one of the Godin guitars with basically a solid body design and some choices for cavity routing for a restrained acoustic response but excellent response through amps (and for some models, synthesizers).
