Default JS Bach BWV 1006 Gavotte en Rondeau

Hi,

Here is my latest JS Bach video Gavotte en Rondeau.
The ornaments are taken from the David Russell version...if only I could make them sound as perfect as he does... Most of the rest of the piece is just how I hear it.
I used very few slurs in this one and I'm still on the fence about them, but at the moment I lean toward liking the use of them. However, it could just be a lack of RH striking skills that have me thinking this way.
I tried to play the rapid part (what I hear as the Woody Woodpecker part) in the main theme without my thumb but finally gave in. While playing the piece I don't notice the woodpecker effect but when I practice that spot over and over it really reminds me of it.

Hope you like it,

Chris

Fabulous. I've become a big fan of your Bach renditions. Partly I think because I'm so familiar with many of the pieces/movements that you've offered up so far, especially the suites, but mostly because of your excellent playing and phrasing. So much going on in this music and I hear it. It's so challenging to do. (Working right now on the Loure and Menuetts from the same suite).
Your ornamentations were really tasteful, and consistent. I particularly liked the way you played the passage at 1:26...29 or so.
Well done once again! Keep 'em coming!

Thanks Andre. I truly appreciate your kind words. The Loure is absolutely exquisite. Have you listened to Hilary Hahn's version? Very powerful.

Hi Chris, I had not, so thanks for the heads up. She's a great artist.
It's always a good idea too IMO to listen to these pieces played on different instruments than the guitar for a broader idea as to where they can go musically. I'll check her version out for sure. Thanks again!
