Default New / Old guitar day

Well, It's been a while since my lefty got a new bit of gear, so I thought I would post a few quick photos of it here.

We were planning on going to the Arlington guitar show this year, because we have lots of friends that we see there. We hadn't made it there since '08 so it was going to be great to see everyone.

Then they announced that the only known lefty '59 Les Paul (the McEnroe burst) and one of the 3 known '60 Les Paul lefties (the "Florida" burst) were going to be shown; and that was like the icing on the cake.

It was very cool that my lefty got the chance to play them, and have a few photos taken:

So, if that was the icing, I have to say the cherry on top was the '53 in the case at her feet; considering it came home with us!.

We won't ever be able to own a 'burst unless we hit the lottery, so being able to pick up the Goldtop was unreal. It's everything we could want, 100% original, case and all. Here's a couple photos of it with her '54. We never imagined that we would have a '50's Les Paul, let alone 2!

It may be a while before she gets another bit of new gear!

Wow! That's just cool goodness!

I am a lefty myself but alas, when I first got my first decent guitar at age 12 ('65 Epiphone Casino) a six month wait for a custom ordered lefty would have seemed like an eternity. I still wish that I had learned to play lefty just cuz it looks so cool!

By the way, I saw one of the other lefty '60 bursts last year in the hands of none other than Paul McCartney
