Larrivée L-03 & D-03 nut widths
I just picked up a nice Larrivée OM-03R in a trade. Satin finish, rosewood back and sides, spruce top. It's interesting to compare it side by side with my 1998 Larrivée OM-03W, in walnut. My OM-03W came with a clear satin pickguard and a black fiber body binding; this new guitar has maple body binding and a tortoise plastic pickguard. (I immediately got rid of the clear satin pickguard on the OM-03W and replaced it with a Martin-style guard, but that won't be necessary on this new guitar - their new pickguards are quite elegant.)
But those appointments aside, the major difference between the two is the width at the nuts: the OM-03W has a 1 11/16ths inch width, while the new OM-03R has a 1 3/4 inch nut. So my question is this: do the L models and D models coming out of Larrivée's Vancouver plant these days also have 1 3/4" nut widths, or is that just the OM? Just curious. The L, OM, and P all have 1 3/4" nut widths, the D 1 11/16".
I've heard tell of factory D's with an 1 3/4" nut width too. EDITED TO ADD: Congrats on the new guitar. The "upgraded" features of the 03 series are sublime IMO.

Wade. congratulations on your catch.
The Larrivee web site has a features "compare" page that can be found here: http://www.larrivee.com/3_products/compare.html All current "L" "OM" and "Parlor" models have 1 3/4" nut width. |

Yes to what Scott and Ron posted. And I'm interested also, Wade, in your take on your new OM.
