Default Which is your favourite Flat Top body shape?

Feel free to advise me of other designs I might have left out.

Thanks,

Probably the Slope D, similar to the Gibson Jumbo in appearance.

I voted 000/Om 14 fret. I haven't spent enough time with any 00's or L-00's to have an opinion, but i intend to.

I selected 000, but I'm curious why you put a brand next to each one. I would think 000- 12 Fret Slothead might be better wording, just for example.

It'll be interesting to see the results. As usual, I expect to be in the minority.

Andy...you need a "YES" option in your poll! That's how I vote!

Taylor GA???? I mean who leaves off Taylor

I think aesthetically, the 000/OM is the best looking guitar hands down. I also like the looks of the Taylor GA and GS. I like the way Dreads sound and play, and I think 000/OMs sound great fingerpicked.

000/OM is the smallest I will go. I like bigger guitars.

I voted but it depends:

My favorite shape aesthetically is the super jumbo J200 shape - I think it's beautiful.

My favorite to hold and, play, however is the 000/OM shape.

My favorite, tonally, is the traditional dreadnought.

So, I voted 000 but it depends.

(my least favorite is a slope shoulder - I think they look like a Picasso painting)

Oh and include the Taylor Grand Auditorium - that's their design and their signature shape. A nice compromise with a scaled up 000 profile. Given it's their most popular shape it should be on the list, along with mini jumbos.

Presumably because various makers sometimes use the same (or very similar) names for very different body shapes.

I have a deep body grand concert which has a lower bout in between a 00 and a 000 - a bit less than an OM. This is my favorite shape. I also like OMs and deep body 00s but the grand concert with the extra depth has just a nice balance between sweetness, volume and bass.

Kathy Wingert's model E is a grand concert with the waist moved up and it is probably altogether narrower than OMs. Just a perfect shape for me in every respect.

Best,
Jayne

... Guitar shaped..... I don't care what it's called as long as it sounds sublime.

I don't have a favorite, but prefer smaller-bodied instruments...000/OM, 00, or 0.

I like the small jumbo (J185) style. For me it has the best acoustic properties of both an OM and a dread, but in a more attractive package than either. I also very much like Yamaha's LL style 'Original Jumbo' take on the dreadnaught which, refreshingly, is not a slavish clone of anything else; more curvaceous with a slightly wider lower bout, and narrower top bout.

I like the Martin OM but I want to get a GA body as well.

Definitely. I've got four Taylor GAs so they win the popularity contest at my home....
