Irma
There's a lot of weather related events happening. We just had Harvey devastating Houston. There's abnormal heat wave in California.
Now, we have Irma coming this way. It's quite a ways off, so hopefully she changes her mind and goes out to sea. But, regardless of where she goes, she's going to be a monster storm in a few days. Everyone on the east coast out to keep a close on her over the next few days.

We're keeping a very close eye on Irma here on the Space Coast. Last year we got EXTREMELY lucky with Matthew and I'm getting too old for Hurricane/Typhoon parties.

Hang tight Phil! We too are watching very closely. Double checking our bug out list.
If needed... file cabinet, valuables and guitars go in a 5x8 cargo trailer and northbound! Last edited by chitz; 09-05-2017 at 02:33 AM. |

It happens every year but there are years that seem extra special.

Treasure Coast here. I really don't want to go through this again.
Nerve-wracking. |

Thoughts with you folks down there.
I see that level of destruction and loss of life and I think "I'll take our occasional blizzards over a hurricane any day"

We own a vacation home in Fort Myers Beach, SW on the gulf coast. According to those tracking models in the images above, FM is in the direct path. Fortunately for my wife and I, we are not there and we do have hurricane/flood insurance, but there are nervous days ahead. We have a number of friends who live there year-round. We have been in communication with them. They are very concerned and we are for them, and all Floridians.

Hopefully the steering winds kick it out to sea before it impacts the mainland, but none of the forecast models point that way. The spaghetti models are all getting into alignment. CAT 5 now. Scary.
And to all my friends in P.R., stay safe. Lets not forget about them and the V.I.'s

Currently up in RI for the summer, I have been looking at flights to fly into Tampa on Friday to make preparations at our home there. Will decide this evening after receiving latest update on the plots. Very concerned from friends in family throughout Florida.

Have a home on Lemon Bay in SWFL. Husband went out this morning to get supplies to sand bag our home. All sold out of sandbags everywhere near us, Home Depot, Lowes, and local hardware stores. His next stop was Publix. Already completely sold out of water.
