Update: Jeremy and JR are working on it, apparently it's one of the ads that's causing a problem. From Jeremy:

"Yes, it's an ad (that we've reported to Google twice) that is causing it. Depending on your browser, you can right click on the back button and select your previous location from the drop-down."

Any more updates and I'll let you know.

Thx
Matthew for the mods

Default What back button?

I almost never use the "back" button.

If you open each link in a new tab (right click), it's waiting when you close the page you're on, or just press the shortcut command W to close.

Seems to me it's a lot quicker, since when you've finished reading the page that is open, the next is available instantly.

If I close one I want to go back to after closing, I can usually find it in "history."

Worth a try. You might like it.

Every time I use the back button, I have to wait a bit for the page to load again, so I find it inconvenient, and just don't browse that way.

I do that when opening my subscribed threads. In FireFox on Windows, all I have to do his hold the Ctrl key down and left-click the link to open it in a new tab, and I have set NOT to switch to the new tab so I can do this for several links in a row quickly without having to keep switching back. But if I'm just clicking on threads to see if they interest me, I don't do this. That's where the back-button comes in handy. And with high-speed Internet and/or appropriate cache settings, the previous page loads pretty much instantly.
