Default Clapton's Legendary Circa 1964 Gibson SG Up For Auction--You'd Be A "Fool" Not To Bid

A legendary electric guitar formerly owned and played by Eric Clapton goes up for sale under the auspices of Julien's Auctions at the Rock Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee, November 16-18, 2023.

Starting bid for Clapton's famed "Fool"--a circa 1964 Gibson SG, painted by a Dutch art collective called The Fool--starts at 250,000 US currency.

Supplemental information:

An interview with Clapton, included in Cream's Farewell Concert video. According to Wiki over at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fool_(guitar) : "The Fool is an essential part of what Clapton called the "woman tone", "a sweet sound ... more like the human voice than the guitar". Clapton demonstrated the Woman Tone in a videotaped interview in 1968 included in the BBC movie from their final Royal Albert Hall farewell concerts, using The Fool SG and a Marshall amplifier; he said it is accomplished by turning the tone way down and the volume full up, and it is exemplified in the opening and the guitar solo of "Sunshine of Your Love"."

Todd Rundgren on Clapton's "Fool" SG (Rundgren owned The Fool at one time):

Addendum: Also up for auction at the same venue is Kurt Cobain's blue left handed Fender Mustang (Skystang 1) he used during his last performance in Munich, 1994.
