2018 Henderson Music Festival and Guitar Competition
Posting as a fan, not as an Official festival representative. (I'm not one).
As always the third Saturday in June. Some may not know that many of the headliners receive a Custom Made for them Wayne Henderson Guitar as thanks for their performance. Current guitars on the shelf being worked on include one with Skaggs and two with Gibson names on their tags. Performer's list includes Ricky Skaggs and Sharon White, The Gibson Brothers, Richard Smith, The Jane Kramer Band, and Rachel Eddy. As usual, Wayne Henderson and Friends will wrap up the show and the guitar competition promises to be blistering, typically with various Bluegrass association champions competing. Performers and contestants typically circulate through the crowd to rub elbows etc. Great family event and a must see and humbling experience for most considering themselves a guitar player. Camping, food and beverages, not to mention a variety of merchandise are also available. A Henderson guitar will also be raffled off. Been there three years running and it is well worth the trip every year ! Anyone else going ? Hope to see you there ! Peace John
