what do you think of my brand new design?
hi
please view my carbonfiber/wood hybrid original designs and comment It uses golden ratio`s just like the stratocaster. It`s a 7 string in the pictures, but it will be a 6 string im not so great at paint and photoshop, but you get the idea... |

What are you using the CF for? Is it a laminate layer that is exposed in some areas?

Probably would be a hit with the "shredders"! If that is the market I would leave it at 7 strings. Gonna be expensive to produce.

Very interesting looking guitar. Here are some thoughts:
1. I think the controls and selector are too far away to be user friendly. 2. If you're going with a 24 fret neck you might want to consider a neck through body. 3. Looks heavy. If you go with my point 2 the wings could be much lighter wood. 4. Not sure how it will hang, might be comfortable, might not. 5. The points on the headstock look nice, but will take a beating. Just some thoughts, not that you should follow any of them (except possibly point 1). Best of luck. |

i like the looks. especially the headstock. not sure about the green and the yellow purfling. volume knob needs to be within pinky reach, selector just below/behind it. i would keep the transitions between the cf and the wood as smooth as possible. seven string is fine with me. i'd also go with a set neck or a neck through. hard to get enough "shredding" clearance with a bolt on heel IME. maybe make three versions, 6, 7, & 8 string.
