Taylor T5 Electric Sounds
Here is a clip I recorded with my Taylor T5 Standard and my Top Hat Vanderbilt amp. I also used a digital delay and OD pedal into the front end of the amp. The clip is about 4 minutes long and I hit the OD about half way through. Just playing whatever came to mind.
People say this guitar doesn't sound good as an electric and while I'll admit it's a bit of a quirky instrument it can sound really good into an amp. IMHO at least.

 It's all about knowing how to set the EQ, the pickup selectors and your amp settings!

My T-5 gets a whole lot of iconic electric guitar tones... everything from the Tele neck pickup to the Tele bridge pickup, bridge humbucker, Gretsch rhythm tones and Gibson rhythm tones... even some decent Strat-ish tones, as well!
Sounds great through a good old TS9, with either my '73 Fender Deluxe Reverb or my solid-state Yamaha GL100-112... I am very much a fan of the electronics in the T-5... and I think the entire guitar was mis-marketed, and is vastly misunderstood...

In general I like the guitar a lot in that it's a unique instrument and very fun to play. I like it more as an electric vs acoustic but it can sound good in both settings. Mine is modded with D-Tar Wavelength and to me that is a better acoustic tone and makes it a bit easier going from electric to acoustic or blending both.
I think many that try it and expect to instantaneously teleport from a Martin D28 to a Les Paul or Strat etc.
