I have a 2012 Tele. I bought it used on eBay simply because I'd never owned a Telecaster. I LOVE the thing. Way more versatile than I ever thought and the perfect compliment to a Strat. Leo Fender really had things figured out.

Not a tele, per se, but I have a G&L Asat Special in butterscotch. Love it.

My entire set is now with the Tele with minimal effects. Its amazing how it can carry a night with a clean tone. In fact, the audience is tickled to hear Jimi Hendrix on a Tele with no overdrive and some country licks inserted. When I do overdrive it, I get a pretty unique tone, less predictably faithful to my Strat. Good times!
Watching Danny Gatton videos are sure to inspire you...what he did with that thing is outstanding, not to mention Hillard, Buchanan and the rest... |

Have owned lots of Teles, and regret selling a couple, especially the Aerodyne and the Deluxe.
At the moment I have a newish Mexican Thinline and a Squier CV, both of which are way better than I expected, which is why I bought them. I'm still keeping an eye open for a couple more for project/experiment use. What's life without a Tele in a state of modification? The basic Tele platform is way more versatile than it appears. Two complimentary and contrasting pickups when combined with a selector switch and a volume control gives the player oodles of options and not a bad sound anywhere. It's pretty much idiot proof to play and maintain too. |

Loved my Fender George Harrison Tele, but she's gone now:

Hi, new to the forum. I play acoustic most of the time, but also play a great (for its price) Fender Telecaster Highway 1 from 2011. Just love it. And even more with a Laney LC50-II. Great clean Tele sound.

I bought a 2012 American Standard Telecaster last January, the first Fender guitar I've ever owned. It has, I'm told, a Broadcaster bridge and Twisted Tele neck PU. After 4 plus decades of using humbuckers the PUs are a lot weaker than what I'm used to, but I am having fun with it.

My Tele is just like that one. Bought it used in 1978 from a friend for $200.00. I simply LOVE it.
From the serial number, it was manufactured in either '68 or '69.
