Default NGD - Ibanez Q52 Natural

I really like my 2022 Q52, but I was never fond of blue. I bought and sold a Q54 (HSS) partly because it was available in black, but I feel HSS and 24 frets does not quack enough to payback for the missing neck humbucker. The Q52 has a mode combining the two inner coils of the two humbucking pickups to produce a convincing Strat quack. There is a more expensive Q52 Natural, but two years ago they were completely unavailable. Since my original Q52 Blue, Ibanez has upgraded the frets from EVO to stainless, and increased the size of the set screws on the locking nut. So maybe for looks, maybe for frets, maybe for set screws, or maybe because of no self control...

BTW at two years of being my primary player, the Blue Q52 has only the slightest mark under the high E at the 1st fret. It might just be the lack of tarnish. For me the EVO frets might be lifetime frets.

I like the look of them but would have to go with HSS as for me no HH guitar no matter what the combination of switch selection will ever sound like a true single coil pickup,I’d want a trem too before I would entertain buying one

Seems Strandberg has your specs covered.

The guitar arrived yesterday and aside from FedEx leaving it out in the rain feet away from cover, all is good. About a pound lighter than my blue one (4.6 vs. 5.7 lbs).
