You're missing out! I try to play along with the music of the commercials to hone my improv skills. To be honest it hasn't helped much. :/

Truly produced without commercials.....

Black Sails (Starz - too bad only a couple of episodes left)
The Man In The High Castle (Amazon)
Goliath (Amazon)

Fortunately we mostly watch two or three BBC channels so no ads - just trailers between programmes.

When we first got commcerial TV ther was a skill in finding an appropriate place in the "action" to pause the programme, and so re-commence without disturbing the run of the programme.

Some commercial channels we have pay no attention to this, and a programme can be stopped in mid dialogue or action for endless ads.

This is when I remember that such commercial channels arew not there to provide us with entertainment, but for us to provide a gullible audience for their advertisers.
Sometimes I just ignore these channels.

Ever get that feeling ...."what was I watching?"

I have to say that I am antagonistic to TV advertised products.
It is also interesting to observe what demographic they think that such and such programmes will attract. Why would I want endless hair product, or to gamble? (that means I'm watching rubbish...move on nothing to see here (true!)

Netflix fan here, but when watching regular cable, I use the commercials to get myself a drink, or to visit the washroom. To chat up the better half, check my email.... so not a biggie. If I decide to wait out the commercial, I usually mute them.

I watch a lot of British shows on Acorn subscription TV. Great shows and no commercials.
