subdudes at the Navarro Store THIS Saturday!
Title says it all... my travel plans just came together in such a fashion that I'll be able to go their show on Saturday evening, and I am PSYCHED!
If you haven't seen the subdudes, they are simply wonderful, live; they put on a great show... great tunes, laying and vocals... I saw them for the first time when I lived in Fort Bragg, Ca., maybe 3 years ago or so... and the accordion player/vocalist REALLY looked familiar to me... I enjoyed the show but kept having this nagging thought that I had seen the man somewhere before. When I got home, I checked out their website... DOH!!! Of course, I had seen John Magnie before; we had lived on the same 1200 acre ranch outside of Steamboat Springs, back in the early 70's... even back then he was talking about going to New Orleans and getting piano lessons from Professor Longhair, which I believe he did accomplish... Anyone from Northern California going to the show? Meeting some folks from these pages would make the trip even better! play on.....................................> John Seth Sherman
