Default Played a Brooks Masten Banjo

I was at a guitar picking party and a friend of mine from Southern California brought her newly acquired custom made Brooks Banjo. Wow! What a nice instrument. Very nice traditional mellow tone and the playability was excellent. It had a goat skin head and very simple but elegant appointments. I have a nice old R. S. Williams banjo from around 1900 and it is great but I must say now I am saving my pennies for one of Brooks masterpieces.
