Default NGD: MFG Martin custom ambertone 000-28H PICTURES ADDED

It had almost perfect weather for it's trip from Naples and arrived at the UPS distribution center at about 4:30 AM this morning. I picked it up myself when they opened at 1:00 PM and let it acclimate to our house until after 8:30 PM. Opened the 533 case and it was breathtaking sitting there in that cabernet lining. Looked it over well and found it flawless. Tuned it up and the sound must rival an angel's harp! Pictures coming tomorrow. Back to playing for now, but I must take time to note how wonderful it was to deal with Jon and Sharon at My Favorite Guitars--a fantastic experience!

Ah, man, I'm in ft Myers till Friday. Should have drove down and watched you open her. Nothing better than a NGD!

I'll be singing the same tune in a few weeks. I believe I'll pay extra for overnight shipping, just so it's handled less. It's a long way from Naples to the west coast.

Congrats and HAPPY NGD!!

I know that people say that acclimating a guitar before opening it is important, and I THINK I may have even read that on one manufacturer's mebsite or something. I also understand that if you open a cold guitar and expose it to warm humid air, condensation can form on/in the guitar.
I'm also not trolling, trying to hurt anyone's feelings, trying to make anyone mad or saying that you SHOULDN'T acclimate acoustics.

The "issue" (?) I have with all of this is the picture that played in my head when I read that it waited in the case till 8:30.
I was picturing me having a box or case on the livingroom floor between the couch and the tv and me staring at the case in anticipation while my wife says...WHAT are you DOING??
I tell her that I'm acclimating it and that it CAN'T be opened yet. I can see her saying.."you've GOT to be KIDDING ...that is RIDICULOUS. I'm gonna open it RIGHT now!". I can see us both laughing our guts-out while I'm wrestling her away from it trying to yell...NO..I'M SERIOUS....I'm SERIOUS!!!! lmao

That's some funny stuff right there.

Anyway...I sure am getting SICK and TIRED of reading at LEAST one NGD post per day here lol. This site causes more gas than a 24 pack of warm beer and a case of raw onions!
Addicts all have a "trigger" that they should try to avoid I think. AGF is MY trigger. It's only been like less than 2 months since my last NGD and I'm almost ready. Especially after reading threads like this one. Man I wish I woulda got a new Martin today...so, AGAIN...
Congrats on the new baby. Please let us see and hear her.

Unless Martin made the angel's harp too, surely it sounds better!
