When I played the class 5 I wasn't overly impressed with it. To be fair, it was the first gen and had a really puny speaker.

The Plextorion is a JCM 800 in a box The Plexidrive is a JTM 45 & a Marshall 18 in a box.

Well thanks for all the suggestions, but I did take jomaynor's (and leeasam) advice and got the Class 5. I actually got the very one in the CL ad jomaynor listed for me. It turned out to be a special edition in cream, and I got a very good deal on it.
HeimBrent-You are correct. It sounds great, and is EXTREMELY loud for 5 watts. It is a class A after all. BTW-joecharter, that Carr is sweet. I think I'll let him save up for his next level of amp! So a big thanks to jomaynor for all the help!

Congrats!
Your son must be very happy. The cream version is very nice. This story reminds me of the Marshall 8080 that my dad bought me when I was a teenager...
