Question about Gotoh Tuners
Hello
I just bought an used Goodall Rosewood Jumbo The previous owner changed the tuner to Gotoh Delta Gold Is it supposed to be 1:21 ratio? I see like Gotoh 510, Gotoh Delta 510 and different kinds of stuff Some of them are 1:18, some are 1:21 Since Goodall already comes with 1:18 Gotoh 510, if the owner just said, Gotoh Delta Gold, would that mean it's 1:21? |

Gotoh 510 Delta tuners should be 21:1 gear ratio regardless of the finish on the tuners, e.g., gold.
Very nice tuners.

It is confusing because I have bought "delta" tuners but they are still 18:1. In fact I have even bought tuners sold as 21:1 but when they show up they are 18:1.
Gotoh has so many different options and combinations it can be tough to keep it all straight. |

Yes there are 2 versions of the Delta Gotohs 18:1 and 21:1. I have both types in my shop. After a lot of researching this, I was told the ones with the mini tuner knobs are 18:1 and the standards are 21:1. This may not be completely true but seems to be fairly true with what I have been able to purchase

I can tell you for a fact that nobody sells 21:1 tuners in anything smaller than the standard size. I have looked pretty hard for them and nobody has them.
You might be able to order them direct from Gotoh, but I don't need enough to buy a bulk order. |

According to the Luthier's Mercantile webpage, 510's and 510 Delta's are two different models. All 510's are the cool, contoured shape. The standard 510's are 18:1 in both sizes, the Deltas are 21:1 and only come in full size.
