Thank you al
Thank you all for the well wishes.
Yes Robbie is indeed a special dude. Very peacefull fellow. The way his face lights up is something to see...He will strugle for an hour, then "get it"...And when he does, you have never seen someone with so much pride in their eyes. He has had a pretty tough life, but his mother and stepfather have done him well in keeping him on the right path. Although he will never be alone, married, have children, and sence those accomplishments, they have given him things to take pride in and attempt to excel at. Him with "his" guitar will be very "special" indeed. We are in the Gilchrest/dixie co. area of FL...(pretty darn remote)...If I can get him to do it I will post a vid. link for all to see....Thanks again guys (and gals if any)

Quick update on Robbie. He is totally diggin' the new fiddle..His mom and partner were overjoyed...He now plays almost twice as long, and my brother in law says he doesn't sound half bad...I will make an attempt to record him when I get back in July..I'm thinking of playing along with him. Was thinking "Copperhead Road"..Very few chord changes, and he loves the song..Any other suggestions for simple but fun tunes would be appreciated....Stay tuned...

As the parent of a 4 year old daughter with special needs, this thread has made me very emotional. My daughter loves music, and always wants to play "her" guitar (in reality, MY Kala ukulele - she refuses to use a kids' uke she got as a gift) with me when I get home from work. The look on her face when listening, dancing, or playing along to music is priceless. Music can be such an amazing source of fullfillmeny and joy to everyone, but it seems to touch a special place in many with developmental disabilities. You've done an amazing thing for this man.

Good stuff here.
Very emotional. Love it. Giving a guitar as a gift is an incredibly rewarding experience, and I can imagine in this circumstance, it must be out of this world. Good stuff.

Thanks for the well wishes all...I truly look forward to this R&R...The very first thing he will say to me is " I'm glad your safe man"...(As is the case everytime I go home) Then he's gonna throw some guitar licks at me...He'll hop around a little, scratch his head, and smile...A LOT.....Really looking forward to this...

I would just like to start by saying that this world needs more people like you in it! A close friend of mine works with autistic children and uses music and art therapy with them and has had tremendous results! The guitar is a great choice and a case with his name plate ( I would love to see the look on his and your faces). Stay safe!
