Default On Eagle's Wings

I just heard this beautiful Michael Joncas tune recently. It is a very pretty tune with inspirational lyrics. Recorded on my Larrivee D10 Brazilian guitar.

Very nice! I have always really appreciated this song since I first heard it, maybe 20 years ago. This song has been used at a lot of funerals and memorial services, including those for famous people. My wife and I have probably sung this song about 500 times over the years.

Very nice arrangement! And your Larrivee D10 sounds really lovely!

You might be interested in what Pete Huttlinger did with this song. He put kind of a James Taylor type of intro onto the song and between the verses, but otherwise he follows the melody of the song much as you did.

Thanks Glen, that's a nice arrangement by Pete H. I didn't really know about him until recently, but I like his style. I think he played with John Denver in later years. I'm going to look up more of Pete on Youtube.

Pete Huttlinger had a way of making fairly simple arrangements of pretty songs, like this one, yet which sounded really good.

Pete has an album called "Hymns for Guitar" and he has a transcription book you can buy also. All this stuff is available at Pete's website, too. http://www.petehuttlinger.com/store.cfm

I have a couple of Pete's instructional DVDs. I sure miss him; he was a good guy and quite a treasure for the world of acoustic guitar.

My compliments to you, again, for your own arrangement of "On Eagles' Wings". You did very well and sounded great!
