Angry Weber signature speaker

bought one for my Ampeg Jet ll and has way too much treble. Tried breaking it in by cranking the stereo radio thru it for 15 hours but didn't do much. Will it ever tame out? has a nice compressed bass sound though

speakers need quite a bit of breaking in before they sound great. but, remember that speakers are subjective just like everything on the AGF. i've had 3 weber speakers and expect my 4th to arrive tomorrow. each one has made my amps sound better than before, but, most had 40-50 yr. old speakers in them.

twist the knobs.

play music!

it may tame a bit, but most likely you need a speaker more voiced for what you want.

I've got a Weber ceramic Blue Pup 10 in my Boogie 5:25 and an Alnico Blue Dog in a Marshall cab a friend gave me. Both well broken in by now. Combined they sound as good as I've ever heard an amp sound anywhere. Beautiful clean or distorted with no icepick in the ears. Smoooth.

I reckon yours'll break in nicely. But it may not be what you want to hear from your Ampeg. I'd give it a month or two of hard playing though to make sure.

I returned the Weber Signature, played it for over 25 hours and it just hurt my ears, had to have the treble knob on 1. I hooked up my Ampeg to a pair of Peavy Scorpions and man does that sound fantastic, gonna pick one up soon. Still intrigued by the Weber DT12, I am very limited on what I can put in my Jet, only 4.80 inch clearance.
