I think reso's are a lot of fun, I'd take mine to open mics, but it would give me a far too authentic dose of the blues if I even had to carry my steel one out to the car,
to be honest, it's hard going keeping her on my bony old knee for much longer than one chorus of Dust My Broom,,,,

let alone lugging it down to the crossroads at midnight on foot.

So come on cf builders ! Give us a nice durable but lightweight reso .

Maybe Kevlar could be incorporated into the weave in order to retain the fabled bullet-stopping properties of old Nationals ?

Jon, as you may expect, Emerald is the builder likely to be willing to make one, but probably only as a custom. So save your pennies, work out the details with Alistair and place that order. This is pretty much how Evan has approached his upcoming electric.

I may just be thinking of sending Emerald some money at some point Tom but I don't think it'll be for a custom c.f resonator.

(I Think Gretsch make a cheap(ish) plywood-bodied reso, if I really felt the need for a more back-friendly one).

Haha! I may well give Emerald a call before much longer, but as I said above, it won't be about a whacky resonator project.

My thoughts are leaning towards an Artisan, but, somewhat perversely, in black !
So only real aficionados will know it ain't just the Opus !

There is also Beltona in New Zealand. I'm not sure if its officially carbon fibre but it's in the mix at some level.

I confess I do indeed like the look of that Delta CF guitar. I wonder, though - where are they getting the CF body? I am assuming someone else is building them if it's a poured mold, but maybe if assembled back, sides, and front they are doing it in-house.

Beltona is the leight weight champion of resonator guitars. It comes with a price tag, but they are really very good. Owners never resell them for a reason. so:

DO NOT GO TO BELTONAS WEBSITE IF YOU LIVE IN UK. It will cost you money. DONT DOIT. Beltona is now in UK being brexited into splendid British isolation for the "Divided Kingdom" (Sing this: "fool Britania Britania fool the waves...") (rant over)
