Default Merle/Chet Style

My fingers are throbbing but WOW what a good time I'm having! This guitar sounds so good it's hard to put it down. I'm getting back my coordination for fingerstyle. Keeping that bass line moving "boom chic"and playing through a bunch of melodies. This guitar is geared toward strumming. I have a hard fingerstyle attack so the fingerpicking volume is Ok. I now wonder if a short scale neck might be easier to play that style but I did play one a few x12s and didn't notice anything. Guess I was so blown away by the sound of this one. I better call it a nite before my fingers, mostly thumb, fall off. Thank you all for the input the last couple of days!

Short or long scale. No wrong here. I switch daily. Try capoing one or two fret when tired. I find it easier to boom chick capod.

I wish I would have discovered this style when I first started playing, it's a lot of fun.

Check out the Chet Atkins section on this site:

http://www.frettedinstrumentsnyc.com/

All of the tablature on this site used to be available for download. Now most of it is not. Some days none of its, other days some is - I don't understand what is going on really.

But recently the Chet Atkins tablatures have been available.

If they look interesting to you, download them all now while you can (I didn't get around to trying to download the tablature on the banjo page until it was too late, unfortunately).
