Default Jamming with a WWII B-24 pilot

Here's a buddy I've made at a nursing home I play at each week. He was a B-24 bomber pilot in WWII. This guys loves to sing! Here he sings IT'S BEEN A LONG LONG TIME and afterwards talks about how the song impacted soldiers at the end of the war.

Love it ... thanks for posting. There aren't many vets still around from that era. Most of the ones who came home and blended into normal life ... and raised a new generation... just didn't really talk about their wartime experiences freely.

That was the coolest thing I've seen in many moons. And his answer wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting, "I'd just gotten home from the war and wanted to kiss my girlfriend/wife". But his answer was more about how the war had just gotten over and it had been a really long time.
His answer is right of course! He was there!
There was many reasons they were the greatest generation.

That's awesome. Not many WWII vets left. Had a neighbor who was a Marine in WWII. Fought in Okinawa. Wouldn't talk about it much until toward the end of his life. Came to find out he was highly decorated for bravery.
