Default What was the first song you learned on guitar?

I think for me it was "Gloria" by the Shadows of Knight, way back in the mid 60's. Yep, 3 chords...E-D-A.

G-L-O-R-I-A

I even had a band with another guy that had a guitar and drummer, and we played it over and over and over.

Twine Mid The Ringlets

Which is an earlier version of Wildwood Flower. Which is the same as Wildwood Flower. Just a different name.

My first song was Apache and, back in 1966, this quote would have described me perfectly:

Yep, Apache and Walk don't Run. There were several 60's instrumental groups that got me going. In particular The Ventures. I'm with blackie51 as I'm also born in 51. Over and over and over again.....The Dave Clark Five.

Yellow Bird...and I don't have a clue how to play it today...nothing about the sheet music I find is even vaguely familiar!

Neil Young again, "Down by the river". My sister showed me how about 40 yrs ago when I was 8 or 9, just the verses though (Em A Em A ad nauseum). The bridge came a couple of yrs later .
