New Journey OF660B on the way - thanks Ted & Helene!
I had a little OF660 some time back that I'd picked up here for a decent price. It was a great little guitar and I'd posted about it many times. But I rarely traveled by plane and I own a beautiful Emerald X20 Custom Woody so when a close friend that borrowed it all the time because he does travel a lot begged me to sell it to him, I caved.
But as fate would have it, our senior traveling auditor at work is leaving and guess who got selected to take over his travel duties? Yep, me. So now I'm finding that I need a traveling guitar. I quick phone call to Ted today just to check out what he had and within probably 10 minutes I was placing my order with his lovely wife, Helene for a brand new Journey Overhead OF660B. The hardest thing was selecting which one. I liked the blue, the orange and the matte black. The orange kind of has that vintage toner look so kind of like a real wood topped guitar. But the blue is sharp as well. Ted said the blue is the most popular color. In the end I went with the blue. So, I'm back in the club! I've got a week-long audit trip in three weeks to the other coast so this will help make the trip a whole lot more fun! |

Welcome back Methos.
I had a very similar journey, I bought a nice used X7 for about half of new price. My pal talked me out of it, I figured I’ve got plenty guitars, I won’t miss it. I missed it. I bought m’self a new one, full price . |

I almost went this route. I had an X7 but sold it when the X20 came in. Thought about grabbing an X7 again for travel but I much prefer the stock neck shape of the Journey CF foldable guitars to the stock X7. And the folding/backpack makes for a definite bring on board the plane. Also, much cheaper! And last but not least, much prefer the stock pickups.
