1996 MARTIN 00028GE. Rare & Beautiful $2500
Looking for a quick sale so reluctantly have my 1996 00028GE up for your consideration. *If you know Martins, you know this is one desirable model! *I won’t go into a long dissertation but will place the specs below and the prior owners thoughts. *This is a beautiful sounding and looking guitar. *No structural issues at all... *only some finish loss on the upper neck near the frets and lower bout near the binding. *Have many pics I can forward. *Price of $2500 is firm and buyer to pay shipping and any paypal fees. *Email me at [email protected] for pics and questions
Prior Owners thoughts...... The guitar has some finish peeling. My luthier says that it was a factory finish that probably hung too long after the base coat was put on before the finish coat. It was fine when I bought it from a collector but had some areas peel about 1 year later' mainly on the neck. Playability is unaffected. Lush, full-sounding Martin 000-28 Golden Era from 1996 in excellent condition. Originally a limited edition the 28 GE's were one of Martin's first forays into building a more "authentic" style guitar. They definitely did not disappoint. Even after Martin decided to include this model in their stock offering (as a 000-28VS), the GE's stood out as something special. This particular one lives up to the hype. It has a pronounced warm, round and full bass after 20 years. The trebles are crisp and ring like vintage bells. The volume is superior for its size. This one has a great, comfortable set up and is very easy to play. No neck set or truss rod adjustments needed. The limited edition models keep their value over many other models, and this one is worth having if you’re a 12-Fret fan.The neck is 1 13/16” at the nut and is a long scale instrument. It’s the ultimate 12-Fret from Martin. Fossil ivory nut and saddle with a pyramid bridge. Forward shifted 5/16” scalloped X-Bracing (1” from soundhole) with 1/4” scalloped tone bars (historically accurate). Linen side reinforcements and over the X-Brace. Label signed by C.F. Martin IV and individually numbered. Edition size was limited to the number of orders t Sorry but am not having any luck posting pics! Email me at [email protected] and I’ll forward what I’ve got.
