You can find the chords on Ultimate guitar. Verse is D A7 G, D D/F# D/G, D A D.

The intro is
(capo on 7 to match the recording, I capo on 5)

G|----------------2----------2H4-------------------- --------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------------------------|

and the pattern repeats several times. He's just playing around the D shape that the song starts in.
