Default NGD-Finally bought an SG

Came to the conclusion I wanted a Gibson, not an Epi. I've posted several threads over the last month asking you guys for advice, which I appreciate. I bought a new 2017 Faded T in brown. I wanted the 2017 (over the 2016) for the slim-taper neck. As you know, the Faded T is nothing fancy, no MOP inlays or bound fretboard. Finally found this new open box one on Reverb, and it came with the brown faux-leather case, and I got a good price on it. Paid about twice what I could have bought an Epi for, but it says "Gibson" on the headstock.

This is the only pic I have of it right now, and it was taken by the seller. I love the guitar!

Fantastic! Those faded SGs really rock. It's not the pretty fancy stuff that brings the SG to life. Does it have a pair for 490 pickups? They sound great.

SG through a Super Reverb - classic recipe for blowin' da blooz...

Congrats. I used to have an '08 Special Faded, and stupidly sold it a couple years ago. I've regretted selling it ever since..

Here it "was"...

Could anyone provide a link to where I could buy a set of pickup covers for my new baby? I've looked around and all I find aren't rated very high. Would like to find a set of them from one place.

Thanks.

I bought my Gibson nickel covers at Sam Ash.

(That reminds me - I forgot to take them off before I sold the guitar...)

I also put silver/blk reflectors on the guitar - and yep - left them on there as well...

Beach: that sure was a nice looking T. I can see why you wish you still had it. Great grain and all.

I know... I am still kicking myself for getting rid of it...

I actually traded it in on the deal with the new SG Standard - and while I love the Standard, I should have kept both...

Thanks, Dru.

So, I guess the 1 15/16 fits the neck, and the 2 5/64 fits the bridge? (Stew Mac). (Duh, I just don't have anything that measures down to 64th's).

Hey Jerry - I think you want the 1 15/16 for both the neck and bridge. The larger size, I believe, is for F-spaced humbuckers (which fit Strats and such). Can someone confirm this?

Well, in the meantime, I talked to Stew-Mac. Twice. The first time to a lady who didn't seem to know where the bathroom was. Second call yielded "Pete", who I could tell was very knowledgable, even getting into Gibson's move from Kalamazoo to Nashville. Anyway, he said I need one each, so that's what I ordered. The outside measurement is the same, he said, but the difference is in the hole spacing, to accommodate the wider string spacing at the bridge.
