Vocals and Microphones
Does the type/brand of microphone have a significant effect on the vocals?
I have a cheap microphone that I plug into an Acoustasonic Jr. along with my guitar, but I was wondering if a more expensive microphone would sound better? |

The good starter range is more in the 100-125 range.
The Shure SM58 is a basic. Bob

And definitely fallls into the "bang-for-the-buck" category. Practically indestructible and can be had for a pretty good price used.

You could find a gently used sm58 in your price range.
If you're interested, I suggested you post a "wtb Shure sm58" in our agf classified section. You might have luck there. I think someone just sold a sm57 for around your price. |
