Default Buck Dance (Rev. Gary Davis)

Hi guys,

here's a rendition of Rev. Gary Davis' Buck Dance played on a Martin 000-18MC. From an arrangement by Stefan Grossman.

I hope you like it.

Doug this is great... I can never play that clean! Sounds like you have more syncopated feel in this too. Excellent job on hard material.

Nice! I really like the funky feel you've got going. I cover this tune also- learned it from Roy Bookbinder and I was surprised and delighted to hear how much different our versions are. I might just have to steal a few of your licks and tricks to add to mine.

Variety truly is the spice of life!

I remember working on that song for a week in a class at guitar camp one summer. Never managed to bond with the music and gave it up.

You did a nice job here!

Really fun to listen to - again I like what you and your OOO-18MC come up with - nice 'authentic feel' to it....

Very Nice! Thought from the pic you were playing the Gibson for a minute there!
I've never worked into Rag Time....it's got a great sound and beat.
Thanks for sharing this!

Really nice. Pick that up at Fur Peace? Making me double down on the practice. Thanks for today's inspiration.

Thank you! I learned it from Stefan Grossman's excellent instructional video "Ragtime Blues Guitar".
