Default A Forum Inspired Martin Custom (choosing woods & series)

Ok, so in our last poll you guys chose an OM/000 14-fret body with traditional dovetail neck construction, so in this poll, which will also run ten days, we will choose the series we will base the guitar on, and the wood combo. In our next, and final poll, we will choose scale, string spacing and so on, but feel free to suggest those now in this thread.

Let's get started.

Interesting, given it's a 14-fret OM/000, what top would you prefer? Happy to accept additional suggestions in this thread.

I can't speak to cedar-topped guitars but think that a Martin OM 28 with Adi top and hog back/sides could be nice unless Martin already has that covered...

I dont understand why people would vote for 28 apointments. That white Martin puts on as binding is a real deal killer for me. Its so bright. If it was an off white or ivoride like may mfg do that would be ok. Now rosewood binding thats a different story. Now were getting into custom territory.

The white binding, regardless of material, has never been my favorite on customs, but it's actually hugely popular with Martin aficionado's. In fact, we have a Koa OM-42 in the works, and while I was tempted to change the binding, I decided to stick to the traditional look that has been on the 42-series for over 150 years.

BTW, I'm loving where this is headed. I mean how can you argue with a Guatemalan/Euro OM-28? In the final poll we can come up with a few personal touches for "FI2".

Both attractive and less expensive, I would go with a 40 series incorporating the torch headstock inlay versus the CFM logo.

Love the torch headstock! In the next, and final poll I will list as many of these aesthetic options as I can.
