I hear what you're saying.

I can dial in the tones I want on the amp and fine tune them with an EQ or the pedals I'd be running them though.

It just takes a little work to accommodate most pickups by EQ'ing to their strengths .

Well I read that Lace Sensors have been used by Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana, Joe Walsh, and countless others....I decided I wanted to join that club. These guys are all noted for having great sounding guitar tracks on their songs....so what's their secret ?? I've heard all these guys live in concerts over the years and it's no baloney, their guitars sound different than the stock guitars you get off the shelf.
