Default Hired Gun movie

I'm a sucker for a good music-based documentary.

This one looks pretty darn cool!

Seems to done somewaht on the basic theme of "Twenty Feet from Stardom" about the core backup singers that dominated the pop rock music scene for almost 4 decades

Very similar to the Wrecking Crew documentary, thanks for sharing!

Ha, what a blatant ripoff

I followed the info to their website fathomevents.com and this is exactly what they say about this:

:HIRED GUN
OUT OF THE SHADOWS, INTO THE SPOTLIGHT

Just 20 feet from stardom, these “First Call” musicians live and breathe music, and for the first time ever, they share their experiences with playing next to some of the world’s most famous"

20 feet from stardom

I need to watch Twenty Feet from Stardom. I've seen all of the others mentioned in addition to a bunch more.

I just re-watched Anvil: The Story of Anvil this weekend. To be fair, it's a far cry from 20 Feet and Wrecking Crew. But this real-life Spinal Tap story is simultaneously heartbreaking and encouraging. Definitely worth a gander.

I think it is a very good thing that all the players who have had a hand in making the music we all love get the recognition they deserve... unfortunately for this film, very little of the music that's used as examples in the trailer has any appeal for me whatsoever...

Now, if they had Larry Carlton, Steve Gadd, Leland Sklar, Craig Doerge, Russ Kunkel, Eric Gale, Cornell Dupree, Bernard Purdy and the like... then I'd be very interested! Not that the ones featured aren't good, just not my thing at all...
