How long did it take to nick or dent the bridge on your new guitar, changing strings?
Just wondering how long it took you, to dent or nick the bridge or bridge pins?

Did that once on one of my guitars. I was very annoyed.

Not yet. Nothing much gets near the bridge that is harder than the bridge itself.

I don't know if I did any of that and I don't want to know.

Almost three years and after changing strings at least 4 times a year I haven't done it yet.

After over fifty years of playing, I'd say never. Check your string changing methods. Something's wrong.

Never. Not even close. What did you do exactly that caused the dent? Bridges are usually made of pretty tough hardwood.

Brand new Maton 12-string.
Day 1. Bridge pins were hammered in and I couldn't wait to get those slippery factory fitted Elixir strings off so I could play it properly. Lesson learned.

Haven't paid any attention since I got it last month, but I don't know why I'd be denting the bridge. And ivory pins don't dent.

With my first guitar, first time. I can't stand pulling plastic bridge pins, so I change them to ebony or rosewood to match the fretboard. I also now use a string winder that has a pin puller on it.
If this same question were asked in a Les Paul forum with tone pros bridges, I bet the answers would differ greatly.
