Default New/Old (Slotted Blueridge) Guitar Day

Hello Acoustic Fellas,

I wasn't really on the search for another guitar (well maybe a small fingerpicker ) but every now and then i take a look at the online adverts and there was one that caught my eye. It stated: 2008 Blueridge BR-361 Parlor. In my city and for a good price!
So out of curiosity i just contacted the (very friendly) man and i tried her out. He hadn't played her in ages and she has always been out of the case collecting dust.

And then i played her. The strings were really old (d'addario pb 12-53) but the action was great and she sounded like a piano. No jokes, the sound amazed me. I gave her a new home, strings... and some "attention"

If anyone is interested here's the photo album of the process:

And now she sounds even better...

Looks great cleaned up. These are really nice sounding guitars.
Just curious, what maintenance did you do on the tuners and why the full disassembly?

Thanks . I just polished and oiled them. As for the full disassembly .. well just out of curiosity and maybe to clean them better .

Ah! I always had a crush for that guitar, unfortunately all the ones (that is, 3) that crossed my path were meh.
But I keep the hope of finding one to my liking one day.
Congrats.

Nice find. These Blueridge parlors have been high on my instruments of interest list for some time but I have yet to come across any to play. Congratulations!

Just a suggestion but when you re-string, you might try wrapping the string all with one wrap to the inside and two to the outside. Minimizes their crossing under each other.

Nice work and a worthy guitar. I have the 371 and it is worth more than its price. I prefer to tune it down a 1/2 step and now am back to elixir pb nano 12s for how long they last. Mine is aging well and holds its own against more expensive guitars. Enjoy!
