Fender Slide
Ordered the Fender Slide from the Stupid Deal of the Day. For $30 I thought I'd give it a try. Anybody played around with one? What can I expect? I'll probably mostly use it for tracking bass parts.

That's less than half of normal price, so a good deal. Curious though - 'tracking bass parts' - are you not recording anything else - just for practice use?

I haven't really played with it much. But my thought was that I'd rather mic my acoustic guitars to get a better tone, but then just plug in my bass (or electric guitar on the odd occasion that I'd bust one out) and use modeling software for that, rather than micing the amp.
